Zailey

Sweet little Zailey was born in foster care at All Dog Rescue - her mom Angie gave birth to eleven puppies the day after she came to our group. On November 8th, 2009, Zailey's foster mom rushed this five-week-old baby to the emergency vet in severe pain. After many hours and many tests unsuccessfully trying to determine what was wrong with her, it was suggested that the only remaining thing that might possibly determine the source of the problem was exploratory surgery. Given how dangerous exploratory surgery would be on such a young puppy, it was better to put her out of her pain. She was euthanized in her foster mom's arms at 9:15 p.m.

A necropsy showed that Zailey's pain was due to a rapidly-growing, acute bacterial infection. The other ten puppies remained healthy and all have been adopted into loving forever homes.

Zailey's death was very sad, but at least she spent her short life safe and happy in a loving home. We'll never forget her.
